HERE COMES THE SUN

Editor:

In this era, shrouded by the gloom of senseless violence and shoddy role models, it's good to see a ray of sunshine break through.

The sun always shines during an Amy Arnaz production at the renovated Boulder Theatre, i.e. last winter at "The Nutcracker." The moment Miss Amy walks on stage the theatre fills with love. She loves the children, the kids love her, parents and relatives love the show and you can tell by the quick glances and small hand waves the kids have spotted somebody they love.

This is truly family values, not just the words spouted by a blowhard politician in the U.S. House or U.S. Senate on C-SPAN.

Everything about an Arnaz production is first class: The choreography, costumes, lighting, sound, sets and videography.

Miss Amy has the love of an angel and the patience of Job. By her example, many Boulder City children want to be just like her when they grow up. Could there be a better role model?

Amy Arnaz receiving an award

ABOVE SELF - Boulder City Sunrise Rotary President Douglas Scheppmann, presents a "Service Above Self" award to Amy Arnaz. The Service Above Self Award is presented to a non-Rotarian who exemplifies the ideas of Rotary through community service. Amy Arnaz was instrumental in the success of this year's Spring Jamboree celebration. She provided the community with an opportunity to witness the achievements of her young students at the dance recital in addition to showcasing Boulder City's community pride and spirit.

COMMUNITY SPIRIT

Editor:

"Saturday in the Park," people laughing, people smiling, a town full of hope and dreams! Thanks to Amy and Desi Arnaz, the entire community got to share in a vision for the future full of promises and joy.

Watching the dancers brought the entire town to tears and the River Dance brought us all to our feet. It was a wonderful celebration for the young and the old. Special people make things happen, and for this celebration we thank Amy and Desi.

They deserve a big bear hug for their donation of time, money, and the vision to look beyond the impossible to reach out and make others believe. We know that just a part of their contribution was the stage, the bleachers, the security, the sound system, the Boy Scout clean up, and obviously countless hours to make this event happen, under the moonlight for the parents, grandparents, friends and family who brought blankets and smiles to our "Saturday in the Park."

Thank you from the entire community for demonstrating that old fashioned community spirit, and for bringing us together to celebrate the joy of life, today and tomorrow. We look forward to next year.

The integration of the recital and Spring Jamboree was a wonderful idea. We know that it takes many volunteers and many hours to put together an overall program as outstanding as the Spring Jamboree this year. On behalf of the businesses we'd like to congratulate you on a job well done. Most especially, we'd like to congratulate Cheryl Ferrence, executive director of the Chamber, for her leadership and inspiration.
